We’ve completed the migration of all Google domains. Your domain(s) are now available in your Squarespace Domains account. If you have additional questions or need support navigating Squarespace, visit our help center or contact our support team.

We offer the best of Google Domains features. We support all DNS record types, custom nameservers, domain forwarding, email forwarding, DNSSEC, glue records, and more. Our mission is to ensure complete continuity, however there are certain advanced features we don’t support, such as Dynamic DNS, and ACME DNS API.

Squarespace supports most of the languages and currencies that Google Domains supported.


If we support the language setting you used for Google Domains, it will be reflected in Squarespace Domains. If you use an unsupported language, Squarespace Domains will default to English. Review the list of supported languages here.


Squarespace does not support payment for domains or other products/services via Indian Rupee (INR). If you were paying for your Google domain with INR, you need to update your billing information in your Squarespace account. Learn more about our accepted payment methods and currencies.

No. You can use Squarespace, solely for hosting your domains, and the provider(s) of your choice for website or email hosting.

Squarespace Domains has added a new domains dashboard, with an improved domain management experience, new generic and country TLDs, domain forwarding and email forwarding capabilities, multi-year registration, and enhanced security features. We plan to offer bulk domain management, and other features soon.

Squarespace honored all existing Google Domains customers’ domain renewal prices for at least 12 months after closing the acquisition. As of September 7, 2024 all migrated domains renew at our standard rates. To find a domain's price, you can search for it on our domain name search page or in your domains dashboard.

Yes! With our Google Workspace integration, you can create email addresses for your domain, even if you do not have your website with us. You can also use another email provider of your choice, many of which will connect to your domain with one click.

Squarespace is home to more than 400 TLDs. You can find out which TLDs are currently available for your preferred domain name through our domain name search page. Or you can learn which domain endings are available for purchase by visiting our Domain TLD list.

SSL secures connections and prevents hackers from impersonating you or stealing visitors' information. All domains correctly added to your Squarespace site are automatically protected with free SSL certificates to improve security. Learn more in Understanding SSL certificates.

Yes, you do. Because Whois records are public, spam marketers often crawl them for email addresses. Many domain registrars offer services called "domain privacy," "Whois protection," or “private registration” that remove your personal contact information from the Whois record. Squarespace automatically includes this free domain privacy for all Squarespace-managed domains except for some country-code TLDs.
