Not at this time, Google and Squarespace will work to make the transition as seamless as possible and will let you know when your domain is transferred.

The migration of customer and billing information to Squarespace Domains from Google Domains is underway and expected to be completed in the coming months. You will receive an email from both Google and Squarespace once your domains are migrated.

With few exceptions, your domain will not move to Squarespace until all of the features you were using on Google Domains are on Squarespace Domains. We support all DNS record types, custom nameservers, domain forwarding, email forwarding, DNSSEC, glue records, and more. Our primary mission during the transition is to ensure complete continuity. Certain advanced features that will not be supported during the transition are Dynamic DNS, and ACME DNS API.

Squarespace will support the majority of languages and currencies that Google Domains supports. Your domain will not be moved until support is active for your language and currency. If the language setting you use for Google Domains is supported, it will be reflected with Squarespace Domains. If you use any other language, Squarespace Domains will default to English. See the list of supported languages here. Squarespace will not support payment for domains or other products/services via Indian Rupee (INR). If your billing information with Google Domains is set to INR, you will need to provide a different payment method. You can read more about alternative options here.

No. You can just use Squarespace to host your domains. You can use any website or email service of your choice.

Squarespace Domains is building a new domains dashboard, improving the domain management experience, adding new country TLDs, adding bulk domain management, adding domain forwarding, and adding email forwarding, among other features.

Squarespace will honor all existing Google Domains customers’ renewal prices for their domain for at least 12 months after closing the acquisition.

You can easily attach Google Workspace to any domain hosted with Squarespace, even if you do not have your website with us. You can also use any other email provider of your choice.

SSL secures connections and prevents hackers from impersonating you or stealing visitors' information. All domains correctly added to your Squarespace site are automatically protected with free SSL certificates to use with your Squarespace website to improve security. Yes, you can move your website to Squarespace or have an expert do it for you. Import website content from your old website, style the site, and select a website plan in order to move your website over. Learn more in Move an existing site to Squarespace.

Squarespace includes free domain privacy automatically for all Squarespace-managed domains except for some country-code TLDs. Many domain registrars offer services called "domain privacy," "Whois protection," or “private registration” that remove your personal contact information from the Whois record. Since these records are public, spam marketers often crawl them for email addresses.
